Robert Soler, VP Biological Research and Technology
Presenting at this event is Robert Soler, co-founder of BIOS Lighting. Prior to his work at BIOS, his most prominent work was at Kennedy Space Center, where he was the Subject Matter Expert for NASA’s circadian lighting system to synchronize astronauts to a 24-hour cycle on board International Space Station. He received a fellowship from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and currently serves on the light advisory committee for the International WELL Building Standard®.
Peter Stanway, CEO at Selux Corp. and Lighting Industry Leader
Peter Stanway has more than 30 years of experience in the lighting industry. He has been engaged as a light fixture design specialist for a European manufacturer, successfully creating his own product design consultancy, working in both Europe and the USA. As a business leader Peter created a successful new specification sales organization for Siteco in the UK. The business achieved significant profitable growth and was recognized for many innovative projects, eventually acquired by Osram in 2011. In 2012, Peter became CEO at Selux Corporation in Highland, NY. He has been instrumental in the continued growth and success of the US subsidiary of the Selux Group, greatly improving efficiencies and opening an Innovation Center in 2017. This facility has become a hub of creativity for Selux employees and industry professionals that work to create successful lighting projects and drive lighting innovation. Peter is especially passionate about the biological effects of light on human performance and the effect of exterior light upon the natural environment. He is also passionate about creating sustainable products that will help to revive manufacturing in USA.
Alex Katz, Regional Sales Manager, Canada
Alex Katz has been working with light since the beginning of his career. Following a successful couple of decades as a professional photo journalist and commercial photographer, Alex became entranced in the romance of light, specifically with how it shapes all of the interactions in our lives. The fundamentals of illuminating spaces to live/work/play/rest, have shaped his past dozen years working within the manufacturing side of architectural lighting. Alex has proudly been representing Selux Corp. across North America, for the past seven years, with his main role supporting our Canadian clientele.
