3D Printed Luminaires Supports a Circular Economy

Signify uses a 100% recyclable polycarbonate material in their 3D printed lumainaires, allowing them to be shredded and reused to print more luminaires. The 3D printed parts are light, using less fuel in transportation and resulting in fewer CO2 emissions. Signify is also carbon neutral in their operations and use 100% renewable electricity in all manufacturing sites. Up to 46% of all ocean plastic consists of fishing nets, but this is excellent basis for printing luminaires. As part of Signify's 3D printing production process, they recycle in-house, re-using waste such as rejected parts that didn’t pass their quality control.
